Cookie Policy

Information about cookies and local storage in Płomyczek 3.0. Content updated: 11 October 2026.

In short

Płomyczek 3.0 does not use marketing or tracking cookies. We don’t use advertising systems (Google Ads, Meta Pixel) or external analytics tools (Google Analytics). We count aggregate public page views on the server side, without additional cookies or visitor identifiers. Your activity is not profiled or sold.

What we store in your browser

We use the mechanism localStorage (local storage). It is technically different from cookies but treated similarly in law. Below we describe the stored data, its purpose and retention period:

KeyGoalTime
plomyczek_refreshHttpOnly cookie, Secure in production, SameSite=Strict. Refreshes the session; JavaScript cannot read it.Until sign-out, up to 7 days after sign-in (default value).
themeTheme preference (light / dark / system).Indefinitely
plomyczek-cookie-consentRemembers that the notice was closed.Indefinitely
tts-engineChoice of read-aloud engine (browser vs. server-side synthesis) in the chat.Indefinitely
tts-voice-uriRemembered browser voice for read-aloud (when using the browser engine).Until cleared by the user
plomyczek-game-*Progress and results in educational games (e.g. best time).Indefinitely
plomyczek:academy:v1:*Stars and IDs of tasks to review, stored separately for each account ID and path. The data stays in this browser; it is not published or sent to the server.Until you use “Clear progress” in the Academy or clear site data.
plomyczek:workbook:v1:*IDs of completed “Emergency Backpack”, “Safety Code”, “Safe Decisions Map” and “Cyber Detective” exercises, linked to the account ID. No answer content is stored; they stay in this browser.Until the user clears site data.
plomyczek-classroom-tutorial-v1Remembers skipping or closing the tutorial in “Classroom”. No answers or children’s data.Until the user clears site data.
plomyczek-missions-preferences-v1Picture or text view, larger text and closing the tutorial in “Janek’s Missions”. No answers, scores or health data; settings stay in this browser.Until the user clears site data.

In sessionStorage (only until the tab is closed) we store the key plomyczek_public_visit_tracked, to count one visit to the public website per browser session — without profiling and without sharing conversation content.

The “Guests” counter uses a random identifier plomyczek_public_presence in sessionStorage. The identifier expires after a period of counter inactivity or when the tab is closed. The server stores only its hash and activity expiry time — by default for 5 minutes, without the IP address, account data or browsing history. It is not an advertising identifier. The counter shows active sessions, so one person with several tabs may be counted more than once.

To help you return to the games list, this tab’s session storage remembers the selected game and scroll position. The record is removed when the view is restored or the tab is closed; after 30 minutes it is no longer used to restore your position. It contains no answers or account details and is not sent to the server.

Server cookies

The backend sets the cookie plomyczek_refresh only on the /api/auth path. It contains session and account identifiers, without an email address. The access token is stored only in the memory of the open tab; we do not store legacy tokens in localStorage.

Your permissions

  • You can clear your browser’s local storage at any time — in Chrome/Edge: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data, in Firefox: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and site data.
  • You can block cookies for the app’s domain in your browser settings — you then won’t be able to sign in and we won’t keep your preferences.
  • You can download or delete all account data (chats, profile) from account profile — in accordance with the GDPR.
