Accessibility statement
A description of the portal's capabilities and limitations. We develop it with digital accessibility requirements and the guidelines WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The data and statement for a specific deployment are approved by the entity providing the portal.
Publishing entity
This instance of the application Płomyczek 3.0 is provided by the deploying entity (the instance administrator). The public entity’s specific details are provided by the administrator after deployment — section Contact and appeals procedure below contains general guidance on how to report a problem.
Compliance status
The portal has the features and limitations described below. This overview is not a full WCAG compliance audit. The team is working on removing barriers; Classroom and the missions also require testing with users of assistive technologies and evaluation by an accessibility specialist.
Content unavailable
- Some teaching materials (PDF) uploaded to the knowledge base may not include a fully accessible text layer (e.g. scans without OCR). This applies to documents from external sources.
- The voice assistant (speech recognition) uses the browser's native API — its availability depends on the user's browser (for example, Firefox does not currently support speech recognition).
- Some educational games (e.g. the maze) require arrow-key controls — this may limit play for users who rely solely on assistive technologies. The same content is also available in the other games (quiz, situation assessment, memory).
- Classroom and missions do not provide automatic translation into Polish Sign Language (PJM). Sign language materials are available via links to official PSP videos; their availability depends on the external website.
App accessibility features
- Skip to main content — a link at the start of every screen, visible on keyboard focus (TAB).
- Light and dark mode and respects system settings (including
prefers-color-scheme). - Animations are reduced when the user enables
prefers-reduced-motion. - Keyboard focus is marked with an outline. Menus, forms and card selection in Classroom and missions support standard keyboard navigation; game limitations are described above.
- ARIA labels and semantic headings in navigation, cards and forms.
- Larger text in Classroom and the missions, and the ability to zoom the browser view without disabling its accessibility settings.
- Speech synthesis (TTS) — the assistant's answers can be read aloud directly in the browser.
- Classroom and Janek’s Missions — tasks that don't require hearing, speaking or answering within a time limit. Hints and choices have text descriptions, and illustrations complement the scene. In missions, you can choose text only. The facilitator can accept an answer given by pointing, a gesture, Polish Sign Language (PJM) or AAC.
- Tutorials can be skipped and reopened in Classroom and the missions. Movement activities are optional; the caregiver or teacher decides on any help needed and how to raise the alarm.
Keyboard shortcuts
The app uses only standard shortcuts provided by the browser (e.g. Tab and Shift + Tab for navigation, Enter to select). Inside the chat message field: Enter sends a message, Shift + Enter adds a new line.
Dates
- Statement publication date: 2026-05-09.
- Date this information was updated: 2026-10-10.
- App version at the time of review:
20261021(beta label: development in progress).
This description is based on a code review and an interface check. No full screen reader audit or testing with all user groups has been carried out. The results of such testing will inform the next update.
Contact and appeals procedure
If you notice an accessibility problem, report it to your instance administrator (the person who provides the app to you, e.g. at your unit, school or office). In your report, describe:
- what the problem is (which screen or feature it concerns);
- which device and browser you use;
- which accessibility features you have turned on (e.g. a screen reader).
Everyone has the right to request digital accessibility from a public entity. Once the procedure indicated by the administrator has been exhausted, a complaint can be filed with the Polish Commissioner for Human Rights (Rzecznik Praw Obywatelskich).

Architectural accessibility
Płomyczek 3.0 is a web application — it has no premises or customer service office of its own. Information about the architectural accessibility of places where the app is used is provided by the instance administrator.
